Introduction
InstallShield Tuner 7.0 for Adobe Acrobat gives
information technology and network administrators the ability to customize the
Adobe Acrobat 7 family of Windows products prior to deployment. These products include:
- Adobe Reader 7.0
- Adobe Acrobat Elements 7.0
- Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard
- Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional
Features of Tuner
include changing and locking down default preferences, stream-lining a silent
installation, removing desktop and start menu shortcuts, and much more!
Tuner customizes the Adobe Acrobat products by creating a
transform (MST) file, a file which captures the modifications which the user
would like to make to the default installer and default application.
Quick Steps
After launching Tuner, you are ready to begin a
customization project:
- At the
Tuner Welcome screen, select whether this is a new project or an existing
project.
- If
this is a new project, choose Create a new transform and browse to the
MSI file in the installation directory.
Change or accept the default project MST name and click Create.
- If
this is an existing project, choose Open a recent transform or Open an
existing transform and click Open.
- Using
the Tuners Checklist Pane on the left, select those areas which should be
customized. Customize each area in
the Tuners right-hand pane. Refer
to the Tuner Help System for more detailed information (see below).
- When
all modifications have been made, save the project as a stand-alone MST
file. Or, package the installer as
a setup.exe or an SMS deployment package.
