The following sections provide information about the
minimum requirements necessary to install the agent.

______________________________________________________________________
3.1  Hardware Requirements

You must satisfy the following minimum hardware
requirements to install the agent:

______________________________________________________________________
3.2  System Shared Memory

To optimize agent performance on various operating systems,
we recommend increasing the default shared memory segment
size (SHMMAX). The suggested minimum SHMMAX value is
1048576.

 * For Mac OS X 10.2, the values are located in file
     /System/Library/StartupItems/SystemTuning/SystemTuning

 * For Mac OS X 10.3 and 10.4, the values are located in file
     /etc/rc

For optimal performance, use the following configuration:

 *   sysctl -w kern.sysv.shmmax=167772160

 *   sysctl -w kern.sysv.shmmin=1

 *   sysctl -w kern.sysv.shmmni=32

 *   sysctl -w kern.sysv.shmseg=8

 *   sysctl -w kern.sysv.shmall=65536

Note: You must reboot your computer for the changes to take
effect.
