1. Run the self-extracting file AS2000SP4.exe.
2. Choose a destination folder to which you want to extract the source files or click Next to extract to the default folder C:\AS2000SP4.
3. Once the extraction is completed, setup automatically launches update.exe to start the local Service Pack 4 installation.
4. Continue with Service Pack 4 installation.
5. When the installation of Service Pack 4 is completed, the extracted source files can be deleted.
6. If Internet Explorer 5 or above is not installed on the system, Service Pack 4 installs in silent mode with status, error, warning, and completion dialogs.
7. The log file ends with the line: *** END OF SETUP ***
To install Service Pack 4 silently:
1. Run the self-extracting file AS2000SP4.exe.
2. Choose a destination folder to which to extract the source files, or click Next to extract to the default folder C:\AS2000SP4.
3. Once the extraction is completed, setup automatically launches update.exe to start local Service Pack 4 installation. Click Cancel to exit from local setup.
4. At the command line, change to the folder containing the extracted files. Run update.exe with one of the two following parameters (for example, C:\AS2000SP4\update.exe /q ):
/q: Silent installation with limited error handling
/qc: Completely silent installation. In completely silent mode, setup does not provide any error messages, warning messages, informational messages, or dialogs. All errors or warnings are sent to the log file %Temp%\CASPsetup.log.
5. The log file ends with line: *** END OF SETUP ***

4. In the folder containing the extracted files, run rsetup.exe from the root directory. Rsetup.exe copies the image to the remote machines and launches update.exe with the parameter /qc.
5. Remote setup checks if any ARCserve products are installed on the remote machine. If no ARCserve products are found on a selected remote machine, setup displays the error message "Product cannot be installed to COMPUTER NAME computer!" and does not allow you to choose the selected machine. To disable this check, modify rsetup.ini by changing the value of "CheckProducts" to 0. CheckProducts is located under [Setup] group.
6.
7. [Setup]
8. CheckProducts=0
To enable this check, set it to 1.
9. When installing remotely, all reboot requests are logged in the log file %Temp%\CASPsetup.log in the \winnt\temp folder on the remote machine. If no \winnt\temp folder exists, the log file is in the \winnt directory. After the installation is completed, check the log file on the remote machine for reboot requests.
