ACI Allows the Use Windows Domain Account Option for Windows98/ME Clients (T245152)

The ACI allows you to select the Use Windows Domain Account option when the Client OS is set to Windows98/ME. This configuration causes the resultant installation packages to fail with the following error:

This client is set for user 'DomainName\UserName', but be not set for user ''."

User Icon Disappears After Mouse Click (T245102)

After creating a new user under an organization in the server explorer, if you click the user's icon, it disappears and does not reappear. This condition occurs if you move a user whose name is the same as the name of an organization on another server, and then move it back to the original server.

This fix adds a new command to the BMBAnalyzer tool. If this problem occurs, run the following command on the relevant organization:

BMBAnalyzer -RepairOrg

Running Multiple Move User Jobs Causes Error 32073 (T245103)

If you try to run more than one Move User job on a single server, the job fails and the server crashes or displays an empty exception error 32073.

Email Subject Line Contains Corrupted Characters (T245108, T3D3062)

If you have configured the BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Laptops & Desktops server to send you an email when an error occurs, you may receive an email from the server following a Check Server job in which the following subject lines contain corrupted characters:

TCP/IP - Administrator
TCP/IP - Informational - LOGIN:User logged in successfully
TCP/IP - Informational - LOGOUT: User logged out

This problem occurs when the person to whom the email is sent has multi-byte characters in their user name.

Errors when Creating Users with Certain Double-byte Characters (T245109)

If you try to create a new user whose name ends with a double-byte character and which has 0x7E as the second byte of the name, you receive the following errors:

[55007] ... database operation failed

If you right-click your server in the Server Explorer and select Report, then Analyzer, you receive the following error:

[55015] Reporting failed

If you try to install the Client software on a Windows 2000 or Windows XP computer through the ACI, and the user's name ends in a double-byte character, the installation fails and you receive the following error:

If you delete an organization that contains a user whose database is stored in the CA_BABLDdata\Server\data directory, all configurations and backup sets are deleted.

Old Password Restored when Using the Reinstall User Account from Server Option (T245095)

When you log in to the BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Laptops & Desktops Client for the first time following a reinstall of the Client software using the Reinstall user account from server option, your most recent Restore password may not be reinstalled. Instead, your Restore password may be reset to the password that was current at the time of your last backup.

The Move User function does not prevent you from moving a user to a server that has an organization with the same name as the user you are trying to move.

If you use the ACI to install the BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Laptops & Desktops Client, and you assign your users a newly created configuration, automatic backup jobs do not run.

Server Creates Separate Restore Jobs for Migrated Data (T2D2427)

When restoring files that were migrated to a BrightStor ARCserve Backup server, the BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Laptops & Desktops server creates a separate restore job for each file to be restored, instead of one restore job for all the files.

Server Randomly Rejects Connections from Server Explorer (T2D2403)

The BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Laptops & Desktops server sometimes refuses connections from the BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Laptops & Desktops Server Explorer for no apparent reason.

Export User Database Job Does Not Retain ConnectIPAddress Info (T2D2404)

The tcpip.ini file created by an Export User Database job does not contain any information for the ConnectIPAddress parameter. When you reinstall the user from the exported database, the user cannot connect to the BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Laptops & Desktops server.

Reinstallation Fails After Exporting User Database to an Alternate Location (T2D2407)

If you execute an Export User Database job and specify an alternate location for the user's folder, the name of the folder takes the format "Domain Username", instead of "Domain\Username" or "Username@domain". When you reinstall the user from the exported database, the installation fails because the database does not contain any user-specific information.

Number of Connected Clients Does Not Decrease (T2D2408)

After a BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Laptops & Desktops client disconnects from the BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Laptops & Desktops server, the number of connections to the server does not decrease. When other clients try to connect to the server, the connections are refused because the maximum number of connections to the server has been reached.

Empty Dialog Box Appears when Exporting User Database (T2D2410)

When you run an Export User Database job on a user whose database contains migrated data, an empty dialog box appears. This fix ensures that all Restore jobs for migrated data are submitted at the same time, so the empty dialog box does not appear.

After the completion of an Export User Database job or a Restore User from Server job for a user with migrated data, the Activity Log still shows the status of the job as "Working" or "Restoring".

If you enable the Auto Client Installer's Store At Server option, but do not expand the custom Configuration item, the ConnectIPAddress parameter of the tcpip.ini file is missing the FQDN value.

When the hard drive of the BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Laptops & Desktops server is full, the server cannot accept backup data from BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Laptop & Desktops clients, but the clients do not receive any error messages.

By default, warning messages are written to the message log when there is less than 500MB of free disk space. To adjust the default threshold of 500MB, create the registry string value DiskSpaceLimit and set it to the preferred number of megabytes in the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ComputerAssociates\BrightStor Mobile Backup Server\CurrentVersion

For example, to generate a warning message when the amount free disk space is less than 200MB, set the registry string value of DiskSpaceLimit to 200.

Data Folder Named After Computer Instead of User (T2D2437)

If you use the ACI to create installation packages for your users, and a user has the same name as the computer on which the BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Laptops & Desktops client is installed, the name of the user's computer is used as the data folder instead of the user's Windows login ID.
