Adding or Modifying a Mapped Printer
To Add a New Mapped Printer
- Click the Printer Mapping tab. The list of mapped printers appears.
- Click Add. The Add Printer Mapping dialog box appears.
- In the Printer Name box, type a suitable name for the printer. This name appears in the Mapped Printers list.
- In the Printer Connection section, use the buttons to choose either a Local port or file or a Network printer:
- To print to a local port, enter the name of the local port. The name of the local port depends on your operating system. For Windows, local printer ports are named LPT1 or LPT2. For Linux, they are named /dev/lp0, /dev/lp1, and so on. Check with your operating system documentation or your system administrator if you are not sure.
- To print to a file, enter the file name and path. When specifying a file path on a Windows computer, do not specify the drive letter at the beginning of the path. You can print only to files located on the default drive, usually "C:". Instead, prefix the path with a backslash like this:
\myfiles\printjobs\work.prn
- To print to a network printer, enter the name of the LPR (Line Printer Remote) server and the queue name. Note: The ICA Java Client supports only LPR network printing.
- In the Printer Driver section, use the buttons to choose whether to select a driver from the list or type a driver name:
- To choose a driver from the list, click Select from list and then select the correct driver for your printer.
- Alternatively, type the driver name in the Type driver name field.
- To print to this printer by default, select the Set as default check box.
To Modify a Mapped Printer
- Click the Printer Mapping tab. The list of mapped printers appears.
- Select the name of the printer, then click Modify.
- Change the details as described above.
