CA Licensing installs the native system language by default. To force an installation to a drive other than the system drive, run the following from a command line: silent.exe For example: silent.exe E This localized installation also installs the native system language by default. ______________________________________________________________________ 3.2 UNIX To install or upgrade CA licensing, run ./install from a command line. Note: It may be necessary to source /etc/profile to set up the user environment variables. ______________________________________________________________________ 3.3 UNIX-LINUX To install or upgrade licensing, run the following from a command prompt: ./install This will invoke the license rpm. To run the rpm directly, enter the following command: rpm -U --replacefiles --replacepkgs --prefix $CASHCOMP ca-lic*rpm ______________________________________________________________________ 4.0 General Considerations A complete list of product descriptions can be found at www.ca.com. ______________________________________________________________________ 4.1 Published Fixes All published fixes for this product can be found through Published Solutions on SupportConnect. ______________________________________________________________________ 5.0 Known Issues This section describes known issues, workarounds, and/or solutions for this release of CA Licensing. ______________________________________________________________________ 5.1 UNIX World Writeable Issue There are several files in the licensing system requiring update. In previous releases, they were "world writeable." In this release, the permissions of these files will be changed to "644." The permissions of the following files will be changed: * ca.olf * lic98.log * lic98dbg.log * lic98.dat A new process/program named lic98fds will be launched to manage update access of files. This program will be a "setuid" authority. Since the license system is "root," this program will be a "setuid root" program. A new script named lic98SetOwner can be used to change the owner of this program and the files it manages. The syntax is as follows, where [new-owner] is optional: Lic98SetOwner [new-owner] If you do not provide a [new-owner] on the command line, the script will prompt you to provide one. ______________________________________________________________________ 6.0 Contact Technical Support For online technical assistance and a complete list of locations, primary service hours, and telephone numbers, contact Technical Support at http://ca.com/support. ______________________________________________________________________ Copyright (C) 2006 CA.
