Specifically, the following must happen: 1) A file is backed up. 2) This file is deleted from a server. 3) BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Laptops & Desktops marks this file deleted within its database, and starts the deleted file retension period. 4) The file is recreated, or a new file is created on the server and this file has the exact same name and path information (located in the same directory) as the original. 5) The deleted file retension period for the originally deleted file expires. As a result, all copies of the both the original file, and the new file with the same name/path are purged from the BABLD database. 6) A restore is attempted. The file no longer appears in the BABLD database. Once this fix is applied, BABLD will now remove a file from the deleted file retension period if it is recreated or a file with the same name/path is created on the server. Version 2.2.7(d) on NT or 2.2.6 on UNIX (patch QO48551) or later of APPLYPTF must be applied prior to applying this ptf. Install Instructions -------------------- 1. Unzip the fix file as follows: CAZIPXP -u QO55256.CAZ 2. Shutdown the BABLD11 Client. 3. Apply the fix file as follows (selecting the "Apply PTF to local or remote nodes" option): APPLYPTF Choose QO55256.jcl file. 4. Restart the BABLD11 Client. If you want to apply the fix manually, following the steps 1, 2 above. 3. Rename rwcore32.dll under x:\Programe Files\CA\BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Laptops & Desktops\Client to rwcore32.dll_QO55256. 4. copy rwcore32.dll to x:\Programe Files\CA\BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Laptops & Desktops\Client. 5.
