SQLFIX.txt Filename: SQLFIX.EXE For: MetaFrame(tm) 1.8 for Windows 2000 Date: January 17, 2001 This downloadable executable file fixes the following problem: When both MetaFrame 1.8 for Windows 2000 and the Microsoft(R) SQL (MSSQL) Service were installed on the same server and drives were remapped in MetaFrame, the MSSQL Service would not start. To resolve the problem: 1. At a command prompt, use the subst command to substitute the original system drive for the remapped system drive (that is, subst c: m:). 2. If the SQL Server is installed on a partition different from the system drive, use the subst command to substitute the original installation drive for the remapped installation drive. 3. Start the MSSQL Service. 4. At a command prompt, change to the directory containing SQLFIX.EXE and type sqlfix /drive:m /ignorephysicaldrive where m is the remapped system drive. 5. Reboot the computer. The substituted drive(s) are no longer needed for the MSSQL Service to run.
